How a custom quote works
From your first message to parts in a box
Every custom job runs the same way, online, in your account. Here is what happens at each step and what we need from you.
-
1
Tell us about the part
Use the project request form: quantity, material, what the part does, and any drawings or models (STEP, IGES, PDF, photos all help). We ask for a shipping address so shipping can be priced later. We usually reply within one business day.
-
2
We review it and send a quote
The quote gives the price, the lead time and the payment terms. Smaller jobs are paid when you accept; larger jobs take a deposit with the balance due when the parts are made; some are paid when made. The quote lands in your email and in your account, and shipping is priced separately once the parts are packed.
-
3
Accept online
Accept or decline the quote from your account with one click. Questions first? Reply to the quote email and we will sort them out before you decide.
-
4
Pay securely
Payment is by card through Stripe. Depending on the terms you pay the full price, a deposit, or nothing yet. Every charge gets its own receipt by email.
-
5
We make your parts
Material is ordered and the job goes on the bench. Your account shows the status, and you get an email at each step.
-
6
Choose shipping and we ship
When the parts are packed we get live UPS rates to your address. You pick the service, pay it (unless shipping was already included), and tracking arrives by email as soon as the box goes out.
Prefer to talk it through?
You can also email or call us with what you have, and we will quote it the same way. The online request form just gets us the quantity, material, details and drawings in one go.
